MTB Weekend - Verbier & Grand-Saint-Bernard
Enduro, Alpine Singletracks, and a Night at Altitude
Trip summary:
A two-day MTB adventure combining enduro trails and bikepark runs in Verbier with a wild alpine enduro route from the Grand-Saint-Bernard, including a night at 2,400 m and a full loop back to the start.
Detailed itinerary:
Day 1 – Verbier and Alpine Forests
Meeting at the departure point, then heading to Verbier by train. A full day of riding awaits, mixing enduro trails and bikepark runs. Lift access, varied terrain, speed, and flow—right in the heart of the Alps.
By late afternoon, the route climbs up the opposite side of the valley for an alpine crossing. A true alpine crossing: mostly uphill by transport, followed by a beautiful descent on the far side of the mountain to return to the starting point and pick up gear for the night and next day. Then it’s time for a shuttle ride up to the Hospice of the Great St. Bernard. Overnight in this unique, historic place at 2,400 meters altitude — the perfect setting to rest before the next day’s adventure.
Day 2 – Enduro in the High Alps
Breakfast with a mountain view, then rolling straight from the lodge for a short warm-up descent. The trail soon turns upward: about 30 minutes of hike-a-bike to reach 2,700 meters, with stunning views at the top. From there, it’s pure trail bliss: 30 km of singletrack, starting with rocky, technical sections, then flowing into faster, smoother lines —sometimes playful, sometimes demanding. A few short climbs add spice to the ride, but the focus stays on the descent.
A wild alpine adventure, far from the crowds, weaving through high-mountain terrain, open pastures, and forests. The route gradually drops back down into the valley… returning to the starting point and closing the loop on an unforgettable weekend.
